On November 7, 2008 we placed 3000 PUSHKIN THE CHRISTMAS PUMPKIN books in St. Mary's Children's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.  Every patient under age 10 will recieve a free book.  This was done thanks to a gift from Houchins Industries, Inc. that paid for most of the printing.

The story encourages children that no matter how different they may be,or how restrictions keep them from being like other children, there is a place for them in the world and in society.  In the story, Pushkin has something happen to him that prevents him from growing any more and keeps him from turning orange like the other pumpkins.  While Pushkin becomes a Christmas pumpkin, it is not just a Christmas story.  It is an encouraging story that will give each child hope any time of the year.
